NEWER PLANS!! This is the newer plan for next week:
This weekend the homework assignment is to write review questions for the final exam.
Details: Review everything we have done this semester. Try to determine the 10 most important concepts from each unit. Write AND SOLVE 5 multiple choice questions from each of these units: Matrices, Probability and Statistics, Conics, Beginning Trig, Trig Graphs, Trig Identities. That is a total of 30 questions to be due Wednesday. I hope to post a collection of these for you to consider as a review.
Monday: Still snowed in. Hope you enjoyed the snow!
NO PROBABILITY QUIZ Tuesday morning: This will be postponed until questions can be answered.
NOTE: 3rd period will NOT take a trig identity test. The trig identity tests from Friday will not count UNLESS they improve a student's average. ALL students will take a trig identity test on Monday, January 8 and it will count for all students.
Tuesday: We will all review for the retests/final exam. All students need to let me know today which test they would like to retake. I will
take the higher of the two grades.
Wednesday: Students will be taking a retest during class. There will not be a retest for this retest.
Also, the review questions are due.
Thursday: Review and rotate a point through a given angle. (It's a good connection - I promise!)
I'm thinking Thursday afternoon, Friday mornings are good for a prob/stat requiz...
Friday: Review
Monday: Final exams for 1st and 2nd
Tuesday: Final exam for 3rd
Thursday, January 4: Hopefully this is the key for the quiz you took today. Please let me know of any errors as this was completed quickly!
Friday, January 5: Here are answers to Rotating a Point and to the Practice Test.
NOTE!! Test postponed until Wednesday, January 10.
Tuesday, January 9: Here are answers to the First Day Back Review
Tuesday, 11/29/2017 - Due to a malfunctioning document camera, we worked the algebra of the sum to product relationships and tomorrow we will look at their graphs. Therefore tonight's assignment is from the real text: Page 420: 1 - 15 odd and 21 - 31 odd. Solving the equations might be a challenge, but we did some of these in the first trig unit.
Thursday, 11/30/2017 - Today we explored writing graphs of sums and products of sinusoids. Here are answers to 5-4c:
1. y = 4cos (4theta) + 2cos(28theta) 2. y = 5cos (3theta) X sin (36theta) 3. y = 2sin((pi)x/4) + 3cos(5(pi)x)
4. y = 6sin x + sin 13x 5. Should we discuss this one?
Thursday, 12/7/2017 - Answers to the worksheet are:
Example #3: y = sin (2x) + sin (10x) which also equals y = 2 sin (6x) X cos (4x)
17. y = 2cos (theta) X cos (9theta) which also equals y = cos (10theta) + cos (8theta)
18. y = 8sin (2x) X sin (14x) which also equals y = 4cos (12x) - 4cos (16x)
19. y = cos x + cos (15x) which also equals y = 2cos (8x) X cos (7x)
20. y = 3sin (2theta) + 3sin (20theta) which also equals y = 6sin (11theta) X cos (9theta)
